Currently Obsessed

With the new Daisy by Marc Jacobs. It's the perfect balance of sweet and fresh. It's one of those scents that can be worn day or night. Oh, and like the original Daisy, it's a great little accent for any bathroom or room.

Timing

It feels my hectic schedule has finally caught up with me and my trip to NYC couldn't come at a better time! It's nice to get away every once in a while and just relax. Whether it's done in another state or in your backyard, some personal r&r is always a good way to wine down. Although my trip is exactly one week away, it doesnt mean I have to wait a week to start relaxing. A mini personal day, should do the trick; I will spend the day doing a couple things I love like thrifting, hanging with my favorite guy, eating and catching up on my dvr.

Marathon

It seems like the Holiday hangover has just been remedied and its time for some lounging around. Today I'm cuddling up with the pup and my DVR and having a Pretty Little Liars Marathon. I'm looking forward to settling into the new year and all it has to offer; like my NYC trip in February. I've been craving the food, the fashion, the city, and the fashion.

Plans

Well hello 2011! This year I've got my eyes on the prize and I'm working on my career. I'm currently working as an editor in a news station but also collaborating on side projects. I recently interviewed the very talented creator and owner of INKED PRO, for an upcoming show called "Midtown Hype". I had a blast during the shoot and I loved his designs (hands down favorite design is the Miami Dolphins shirt!) I will post all the pictures up soon. xxoo

The New Year

Firstly, Happy New Year! It's amazing how fast time seems to pass the older you get. May your 2011 be even better than your 2010. As part of my new year's resolution (which includes the gym, stressing less, and traveling as much as I can) I want to dedicate more time to the blog! So here's to the new year and all it will bring.

Busy Bee

So I've been on a whirl-wind adventure since my last post. I've been working hard on the new house, getting things ready for the holiday season, getting adjusted at my new job at the FOX station here in Miami, and just getting my affairs in order! Its been a busy few weeks and I'm loving every minute of it. I'm finally getting a break on Thursday which I already have plans to visit the H&M, that opened last week in West Palm Beach, and I'm attending the IMAX midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. But I must admit, that I'm looking forward to some down time!

The Wizarding World

I've been on some what of a bloggin' hiatus, but I'm glad to announce that I'm back! I'd like to pick up where I left off. In the beginning of October I went to Orlando to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Ever since it's opening, WWHP has been given mixed reviews. Some have found it enchanting, while others have found it to be a disappointment. But I finally had the opportunity to visit it, and get my own opinion. And I was thrilled! So much detail went into creating the park and I enjoyed it all, from the every flavor beans to the frothy butter beer. There's been talk that Universal is planning to expand the Wizarding World within a year and has even talked about doubling it in size in 3 years. I would recommend you go and check it out for yourself whether you're a fan or not. There's something for every age.

Mini Vacation

With Orlando, FL being only 3 hours away, it's one of the best mini vacation spots there are. We spent 4 fun days filled with food, roller-coasters, butterbeer, and more food. I enjoyed it all from our road trip and that surprisingly not-so-long lines! I came back with a cold but also some sweets from Honey Dukes from the WWOH. I can't wait to tell you all the fun things there are and some tips on not spending too much!

Mulberry for Less

Mulberry will be launching a Target line on October 10th that will run until December 24th. I'm half excited, half skeptical. The bags seem stylish but, I feel the need to look at them in person before I make my decision on whether I'm a fan. Either way, I'm intrigued to check the bags out. What do you think: hit or miss?

Buffalo Pizza

This past weekend my boyfriend and I went to one of my favorite pizza places, Fratelli La Bufala (which my bf and I call "buffalo pizza") it's on 4th and Washington in South Beach. It's Neapolitan pizza, that's baked in a stone oven and is ready in 5 minutes! It's so delicious and fresh, from the sauce to the mozzarella! My personal favorite is the Margherita, while my boyfriend prefers white pizza and likes the Salentina. Both are amazing and with a side of their house wine, it equals the perfect dinner date for us.

Beads

Two of my friends started a collection of affordable fashion beads a little more than a year ago. Their pieces range from everyday casual to night-out accessories. I wore a a few of my favorite today on set and girls would come up to me, to ask where I got them from. So I thought I'd share it with you guys as well. The line is called MaLi Beads (its the first two letters of each of their names) and after research they found that it was a country in Africa. It kicked off inspiration for not only their collections, but the start of a campaign "From MaLi to Mali." I love them and their jewelry and I hope you guys do as well!

Last Day of Summer

Today is the the last day of summer! I can already feel the breeze of fall in the mornings, and as the official start of fall comes upon us so does its fashion, food, and holidays. This summer, Miami hit some record breaking heat! Cool mornings and nights will be a nice change from the summer's heat. The summer was filled with trends that I loved and look forward to crossing them over into the fall.

I can finally feel fall slowly creeping in! It's honestly my favorite time of year. It's a feeling like no other. But until fall finally arrives, I'll have to settle for the return of my favorite fall season shows, online window shopping (starting to get ideas for my Christmas wishlist), and some homemade treats. Tonight is the return of one of my favorite shows (or rather guilty pleasure), Gossip Girl. I love the clothes, the drama (for the most part), and the feel of New York City (for about 45 minutes). My friends and I decided this season we'd make every Monday night a girls night filled with wine, food, and gossip girl. For the season premiere I've decided to make dessert Crepes. I thought it would be the most fitting as seeing as two of the main characters are in France. Well I'm off to the store.

Stranded

Today I'm spending most of my day indoors (mainly due to the fact that I am car-less at the moment). It's days like these, where I like to curl up under the covers with Thai and watch a ton of movies and eat numerous amounts of junk food. Although I'm all stocked up on movies, I'm running a bit low on sweets. Fortunately I have wonderful friends, who like me, crave the sweeter things in life. Were planning on heading to Menchies for some frozen yogurt. Their flavors are delicious and to top it off (literally) you have so many toppings (both hot and cold) to choose from.

Celebrate

Yesterday was one of my best friend's birthdays. I decided to make her cookies and creme cupcakes. We had attempted some a while back and although they were pretty tastey, they weren't exactly my definition of cookies and creme cupcakes, they were more like french vanilla cupcakes with crushed Oreos on top. I decided that this would be the perfect cupcakes to make. I picked up a box of Betty Crocker's Butter Cake Mix (I didn't have time to do it from scratch), got Cream Cheese frosting (my favorite), and Double Stuffed Oreos. Once I got home I got to work!

I started by placing half an Oreo in each cupcake wrapper.

I chopped up the rest of the oreos and added it to the mix.

Then garnished the cupcake with the other half of the Oreo.

In My Closet

I'm a big shoe lover! Sometimes I opt and go for something that's more stylish than comfortable but most of the time I find a pair that's a win, win. One of my favorite brands, Dolce Vita, allows me to have both comfort and style. They have a range of styles in everything from flats to wedges, all with unique looks. I thought I'd share my two favorite DV heels from my closet at the moment.

Goodies

Tuesday is one of my best friend's birthdays! I'm thinking about baking her some chocolate gnash filled cupcakes. While flipping through my 1001 cupcakes, cookies & other tempting treats I was drawn to so many other possibilities. I had forgotten how many delicious recipes there were. It's been packed away since the move and today I finally, unpacked all my books (I must admit, I have missed them). I will keep you posted as to which tempting recipe I decide to make.

It would be fun to try every recipe in this book. Perhaps a future venture!

Bust a Move

This past Saturday I went out to celebrate a good friends birthday. We had an amazing time and I got to see some familiar faces I hadn't seen in a while. I'm in the process or rather on the hunt for a new camera; mine has had a good run but the time has come to upgrade.

Dolce Vita Line at Target

I went to Target today with my sister and was pleased to find out that one of my favorite brands has a target line! I believe the collection came out in July and includes boots, Oxfords, and ballet flats. I'm a big fan of DV and love that they came out with these looks at such affordable prices. My favorites are the black studded ballet flats and the ankle boots (which I'm going back to buy because I left my wallet at home).
