Bust a Move

This past Saturday I went out to celebrate a good friends birthday. We had an amazing time and I got to see some familiar faces I hadn't seen in a while. Here are some of the pictures we took from the night (taken by my boyfriend with his iphone so the quality isn't too bad). I'm in the process or rather on the hunt for a new camera; mine has had a good run but the time has come to upgrade.

Dolce Vita Line at Target

I went to Target today with my sister and was pleased to find out that one of my favorite brands has a target line! I believe the collection came out in July and includes boots, Oxfords, and ballet flats. I'm a big fan of DV and love that they came out with these looks at such affordable prices. My favorites are the black studded ballet flats and the ankle boots (which I'm going back to buy because I left my wallet at home).

Roll On

Today I had a craving for some amazing sushi. During my last trip to NYC we visited AOKI Japanese Restaurant near Time Square, and all I have to say is "mmmmmmm." Not only did they have delicious sushi but scrumptious appetizers and entrees as well. We left as happy as a kid leaving a candy store with a bag full of sweets. Which I made sure, I also left with before my trip ended. I stopped at Dylan's Candy Bar for some sour apple liquorice (they have the best!) and Oreo and Peanut Butter cupcakes.

Bootiful

I love how boots have become an any weather shoe. No more waiting around for the cold weather to bring out your favorite pair. Mine are a pair of Steve Madden INTYCE I got about two years ago at Off The Rack for $30.00! This year I've got my eye on a couple choices (ranging from pricey to affordable) that I look forward to adding to my collection.

2. Urban Outfitters Ecote Studded Leather Moto Boot $88.00
3. Steve Madden LONDUNN $109.95
4. Bloomingdales Sam Edelman "Joss" Studded Booties $150.00
5. Payless Renee Zipper Bootie $39.99

Oven Toasted

It's been a hectic last couple of days! Wednesday I was on set from 6 in the morning till 6 in the afternoon, for 3 episodes of a spanish show filmed down here (which took most of my energy to do anything at all Thursday). Then Friday during the day we shot a PSA for a "living green" campaign. It was shot at a grocery store (I can't wait to see how it came out). That night we were going to have a dinner at my house for my dad's birthday, so while at the grocery store, I got inspired and decided to whip up a toasted coconut cake. I bought coconut milk, cream cheese frosting, shaved sweetened coconut, and the cake was a hit. It lasted about 2 days at my house! It had been a while since I baked and I remembered how much I love it! And not to mention how much my family and friends love it.

Counting Down

H&M will be opening its first store in South Florida this year. It will be opening in mid November at the The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens. It's been a long time coming. H&M posted on their twitter a while back, that this is "baby steps" to opening up one in Miami. Until they do, I will be making 40 minute drives to get my fix. Whenever I'm in Chicago or New York I make it a point, we go and do a bit of shopping. So I'm counting down the days!

Easy Bake

Since I recently moved into a new house I'm constantly looking for great finds on home decor. While browsing, I found an ideal appliance that would be great for breakfast, sweet cravings, and home parties. This mini doughnut maker is great for quick, easy, and mess-free snacks. I found it on Amazon starting at $15!

Trip Planning

I'm planning my next mini vacation to Orlando, FL to visit the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter". My boyfriend bought me tickets for christmas but with the all the chaos that is, our lives we have yet to set a date to go. We're thinking September might be a good month to go because of the weather and since school will be in session there's hope for shorter lines at the park. I'm looking forward to sipping on butter beer and trying every flavor jelly beans. This is by far one of my favorite gifts I've ever gotten. On the very top of my list is my dog, Thai. She's a mischievous, miniature dachshund that has a face you just can't resist.

Rained In

I just got back from a 3 day cruise last night and I had an amazing time despite the bad weather. My friends and I made the most of our time while enjoying frosty drinks and everything the cruise had to offer (especially the 24- hour ice cream). Although I'm glad to be back at home, the weather has been nothing more than gray clouds and rain drops. I realized that it's time I finally got around to buying a classic pair of rain boots! Although most days in Miami are filled with sunlight and warmth, we do get rainy days. Here are just a few I'm considering.

1. Bloomingdale's KORS Michael Kors "Stormy" Rain Boots $125.00
2. Topshop DIVA Leopard Wellies $40.00
3. Bloomingdale's Tory Burch Logo Rain Boots $150.00
4. Topshop DARLIA Floral Print Wellies $40.00
